Tuesday morning was spent traveling back to Fratello V. who is the less active that can’t come to church because of his family. He has a really impressive knowledge of the scriptures. It’s sad because I think when we come is the only time he gets to talk about his faith openly and I can tell he is just really excited to share thoughts he has had recently. After we came back into town we met with another one of our investigators, D. He has been doing pretty well besides us trying to get him into the habit of reading the Book of Mormon everyday. It’s funny, every lesson we come and he has all these questions, before we answer we ask him if he had been reading, and he usually says no. So the first thing we do is open up the Book of Mormon and show him one verse at a time that all his questions can be answered from reading. He is amazed every time!
Wednesday seemed to fly by. We met with a less active older woman who had been baptized only 6 years ago but has a hard time getting to church because it is pretty far away for her and she doesn’t have a car so she has to take the metro. She really opened up to us and asked so many questions about her family that has passed away and where they are now. We were able to help her find the answers to her questions using the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants. She just lit up when she found what she was looking for. It was so cool seeing how comforted she felt having this knowledge now, but I felt bad that it wasn’t until now that someone had taken the time to talk to her and ask her what are her worries and concerns in life.
Thursday and Friday were primarily taken up by preparing for and having Zone Conference here in Napoli. It was an awesome conference and I learned a lot about how we can be better servants of God and demonstrate the love of Christ for everyone we meet.
Sunday was a really good day because we finally got to meet with the woman that I met from El Salvador 2 weeks ago! I’m so excited to start teaching her and her husband. They came to English course every week and seem to be awesome people! I’m really optimistic about the possibilities that await them.
Have amazing weeks everyone, look for the good in all things!
And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
