This week was full of surprises! Last Monday we had a skype call with President Pickerd and Sorella Pickerd and President Euvrard. We talked about several things we needed to plan out and discuss further for the upcoming weeks. It was so great getting to see Sorella Pickerd! I love her. Then afterward President Euvrard wanted to have interviews with Anziano Draghi and I. It was actually a great experience. He was honest with me about some observations he had noted and I really appreciated his willingness to point out areas where I could improve.
They have helped me to make some specific goals and be more aware of my disposition to rely on others for support.
Later in the week we made an impromptu trip to allow President Euvrard an opportunity to meet some more missionaries. So we headed out to Bari and Taranto and met with the missionaries in those areas. It was a fun trip and I enjoyed the opportunity to see and strengthen other missionaries, though I think they strengthen me way more.
On Sunday there was a little appreciation get together for the Euvrard’s put on by the senior couples. It was so sweet and I think the Euvrard’s loved the opportunity to get to know and spend time with these incredible couples who serve here.
I just want to take a moment to say that the senior couples in this mission are so amazing. They do so much for us missionaries and they have given up way more than we have. I wish more couples could serve missions because you make all the difference. At least for us in this mission, the senior couples are like celebrities or superheroes.
We also learned that President Pickerd will be coming back tomorrow which will be great because there is so much to do! These next two weeks are going to be crazy busy. I’m excited.
I wanted to mention the power of prayer and specifically prayers that are based on the scriptures. When we intently study the scriptures searching for relief to our souls, we are filled with peace. Then when we pray recognizing our shortcomings and our dependence on our Savior and invoke the power of the scriptures in our prayers, we will see and feel the hand of God reaching into our lives. I saw that happen for me this week. Also don’t ever underestimate the prayers of others. They make a difference. I can say I have a testimony of that now because I felt the strength that came from it.
I love you all,
