This week was a bit of a roller coaster ride which was nice because it’s been a while since I rode a roller coaster and I really miss them. Except in life they might not be quite as fun in reality as they are in an amusement park.
We were super busy this week which was awesome. Found new investigators and contacts and we are still working closely with Bruna. Unfortunately, we needed to push back her baptismal date to May 28th because she is having difficulty quitting smoking, but she is giving it her all and wants to quit. I think the biggest realization that will be necessary for her to make, in order to overcome this trial, is how prayer in all circumstances really can help us overcome any situation we may face. Prayer is everything. We need it in order to accomplish any thing we endeavor to do.
I don’t know why I feel like I need to write about this but for some reason I want to talk about pride for a moment. Pride is the ugliest human quality one can possess. Pride is the root of so many awful thoughts, feelings, and actions toward others. When we feel offended, impatient, frustrated, or embarrassed it is all a matter of our inner pride that drives us to selfishly think of ourselves and not others.
It is extremely hard to recognize these qualities in ourselves especially as we are already trying our hardest to do our best.
Sometimes that’s when we are most vulnerable to the effects of pride.
We think we have overcome these weaknesses, yet we only overcame them to a certain capacity. Then we move on to the next level of trials and challenges and we must remaster these natural instincts all over again. It is a life long process. No one is exempt.
I ask each one of you wherever you might be in your relationship with a God to take a moment this week and reflect on who you are as a person. How you treat others. How you react in times of stress. And then pray sincerely to Heavenly Father asking him in which areas you are lacking. Ask over and over what more you could do. It will be one of the most humbling experiences of your life, I promise you.
Have incredible weeks! Serve other, love others.
