Week #44 – Press Forward
Hi Everyone,
So I wasn’t sure what I wanted to write to you guys about this week.
It was a tough one, that’s for sure. There was a lot of disappointment, struggle, hardship, and opposition. It is a week I will likely never forget, but I know there is wisdom in Him who knows all things.
When we are faced with such experiences as these, it can be pretty hard to see the grand picture. It seems these situations always cause us to narrow our view and focus only on ourselves and our trials. In reality the best way to overcome your challenges is by helping someone else overcome theirs. We can always serve someone else who is in greater need than we are. It may not be exactly the thing we want to do, but just like Elder Dallin H. Oaks, a living Apostle of Jesus Christ, taught us when he did a special missionary broadcast when he visited Rome in December, you can tell it is the voice of the spirit when it tells you to do something right that you don’t want to do.
I will be honest and share with you that I definitely didn’t handle this week as well as I could have or should have. I learned a lot, especially that there’s a whole lot of improvement that needs to take place in myself. These experiences are necessary for us to grow. It can be hard, it will be hard, but it’s worth it. Never underestimate a kind word or small deed of service. These may mean more than it will ever be possible to describe.
Push forward with a hope in Him who will provide the way for you. He knows you perfectly. He cares about you.
He loves you.
From the bottom of my heart I love you all so much. I hope whoever still reads these emails is enlightened by them and is able to apply something to their lives. I pray for you each day, and I know there is a perfect plan set out for all of us if we will yield our will to His, humble ourselves, and press forward.
Have an amazing week,
Anziano Friedman
