Well after another week passes here in beautiful Taranto, I am happy to report that all is well on the Italian front. In fact, I heard there were a series of small earthquakes here in Taranto but I felt no such thing. I claim that those who say there was an earthquake are crazy (aka the sisters who live down the street from us). Anywho, the week was good. I got to see Mariella, Silvio, and Erika twice which was amazing because they are like my second family and I literally don’t know what I would do without them. Also, Maria Grazia is doing awesome these days and is progressing toward baptism in November. It was going to be the end of this month but basically the entire ward is leaving for a week long temple trip up to Switzerland so no one would be there to support her. This allows us to not rush anything and make sure her testimony is solid before baptism. We have some new people we will be working with this week which I am looking forward to as well.
I’m excited for the chance to be reaching more people.
There were two talks I read this week which stuck out to me. One comes to us from Elder Nelson in the April 1984 conference (“Call to the Holy Apostleship”) and the other from Elder Cornish from this past general conference (“Am I Good Enough? Will I Make It?”). Each of these men talk about the feelings of inadequacy that we all inevitably feel in our paths of life. These talks might also be very easily referenced to the BYU Devotional from Brad Wilcox on Grace (“His Grace Is Sufficient”), as well as the Ensign article from April 2015, “It Isn’t a Sin to Be Weak.” That’s a whole lot of references so whoever looks all of those up and reads them, I promise you that your understanding and appreciation for the Atonement of Jesus Christ will grow and you will feel a stronger spirit in your life.
I love you all and I’m praying for you everyday!
